The Brazilian Automation Conference (CBA) is a biannual
conference sponsorde by the Brazilian Automation Society, the Brazilian member
of IFAC. The CBA event series is the major and most traditional scientific forum in its area in
latin America. Fourteen editions of the CBA have already taken place, the most
recent being held in Natal - RN, Florianópolis - SC and Uberlândia
- MG. The 15th edition of CBA (CBA2004) will take place in the mountains of the
Brazilian southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul, in the touristic town of
Gramado, about 120 km from the state capital, Porto Alegre. The conferecne
program will feature plenary sessions by international speakers,
oral and poster session paper presentations, an industrial fair and social activities.
Gramado and its neighbor Canela are characterized by a strong influence of German immigration.
With its Bavarian architectural style, these two towns are surrounded by
beautiful mountains, providing an excellent environment for conferences and technical meetings.
